We got up there late on Friday night, grabbed a quick dinner at a Mexican place, and headed to the hotel. We debated about going out but decided that we'd probably go out the next night and decided to take it easy since we were already pretty tired from the drive and coming straight from work.
Saturday, Billy went on a run with one of his friends from college while I did some errands, walked Jefferson, and dropped him off at Pampered Pets. After Billy got back, we grabbed a Bellair sandwich and headed to Veritas for some wine tasting. It was pretty crowded, but we still had a good time and came back with two bottles of wine to enjoy at home. We usually just have a bottle of their wine on hand, and we always wait for a special occasion to drink it, so we decided that if we have a couple more bottles around, we can enjoy it without worrying that it won't last a long time. It is (and probably will always be) our favorite winery, not only because it's in a gorgeous setting and they've done an awesome job with the building inside and out, but because of all of the wonderful memories we have from our wedding reception. We loved celebrating with so many family members and friends and are thankful that we were able to have our reception at such a beautiful place! I can't believe that was almost 4 years ago!! Time has flown by.
After we got back from Veritas, we headed to the tailgate area with Billy's family and met up with some friends as well. It was so fun to realize that one of my sorority sisters and her husband have a tailgate in the same lot! So, whenever we go back, we'll be seeing lots of them!! We saw several other friends, many of whom we hadn't seen in quite awhile, so that was great!
The game was not great, but we had a good time getting to sit in the president's box. It was my second time sitting in a box for a game (first was before I was even in school there), and they really take great care of you there! We had lots of yummy food and enjoyed the seats that have backs (much more comfortable than the bleachers :)). It was a little weird since you feel more removed from the game, but we had a great time doing that with the whole family.
After the game, we headed to the corner for a bit with Greg, Erin, and Kendall. Our first stop was The Virginian, and it made Billy and I feel very old because it was super crowded and crazy, which we did not have the patience for :) haha! Once Kendall met up with her friends, the four of us headed to Michael's Bistro for a drink, and then grabbed a sandwich at Little John's before heading back to the hotel. It was so fun catching up with our good friends and spending the evening out in C-ville!
More physically intensive apple picking than normal
Jefferson was watching Billy climb the tree :)
Our cute little pumpkin!
Hiding out in the grass
Trying to get the apples
Tired of apple picking :)
So, it was a fun weekend with friends and family, and I'm excited to do a little baking this week with our spoils from Sunday!
