Green Garden

I posted before that Billy and I decided to try our hand at some gardening this summer, and while it started out a little slow, our plants are thriving now.  Lots of green...basil, oregano, cucumbers, fajita peppers, and tomatoes (which, unfortunately, are mostly still green).  We've been using fresh basil a lot (love it mixed in with ground chicken or turkey for a healthy burger!), have gotten half a dozen large cucumbers, with many more on the way, and have gotten a couple of tomatoes.  Still wondering about the status of the peppers, as they are about golfball-sized, but we're not sure if they're ripe yet.

Our garden...which is actually even fuller this week after getting some heavy rain a few nights ago!

Cucumbers are taking over, defying my self-proclaimed "black thumb" (these were grown from some cheap seeds we got at Lowe's, and we've had to try and contain them as best as possible in a trellis)...maybe cucumbers are a fail safe though!

Fajita peppers

Fried green tomato possibility?

So, we've enjoyed getting to eat some fresh vegetables...maybe next year we'll have to expand our little 3x7 garden a little more!

Unfortunately, my little hydrangea that was FINALLY blooming took the recent heatwave pretty hard.  I'm hoping it will bounce back, but we'll see...

And, one unrelated but funny picture...this is what I walked into on my lunch break the other day

Caught in the act :)
