For the past couple of weekends, we've been on the road doing lots of fun things and seeing lots of people we love!
The last weekend in June, we headed to C-ville for one of my sorority sister's wedding, which was so beautiful and so much fun! Bryan and Kristin were also going to a wedding in the C-ville area, so it worked out perfectly for us to pick him up from the airport on our way up there (she was already in town for pre-wedding festivities) and hang out Friday night before the weddings on Saturday. We got up to C-ville around 10:30, had a couple of beers on the lawn, and headed back to the Red Roof Inn for the night (great pet-friendly policy too...no charge!). The next morning, Billy went for a long run while Bryan and I took the healthier option of going to Spudnuts for some potato donuts and then heading up to Wintergreen where his soon-to-be-in-laws were staying. I dropped him off and headed back to C-ville for the noon wedding in the chapel followed by a garden reception. After that, one of my other sorority sisters had organized a party bus for several couples to go on for some wine tasting fun...it was so much fun to hang out and spend the afternoon drinking wine with some of my close college friends and their significant others! We headed to the reception at Zocalo that evening, which was tons of fun!

The next day, we got up, went on a run, picked up Jefferson, and headed to Veritas for a picnic and some wine tasting with Bryan and Kristin. We had one of our best wine tasting experiences with Thomas, the knowledgeable-yet-fun sommelier/wine director, and got to sample lots of yummy wine and reminisce about our wedding reception there 3 1/2 years ago. We love trying all of the different C-ville area wineries, but Veritas will always be our favorite!!

Jefferson & Nelson tired from running around like crazy in the woods!
Cute couple!!
For a little vacation with my family, we headed to Lake Burton on Friday before the 4th of July and had a great weekend with lots of wonderful friends and almost as many dogs! We tubed, skied, swam, and hung out for three days straight, which was a much needed break from work and life in Virginia! It was so nice to be with family and friends, and we're excited to have some more family/friend time coming up as Bryan and Kristin's wedding approaches. Billy, Kristin, and Brittany ran in the Lake Burton Fun Run, where Billy was the overall winner! We were all very proud of all of our runners :) To add to the fun, the Bards brought some awesome fireworks, so we had a great time setting those off on the 4th for our second straight night of fireworks (the lake fireworks are always on Saturday of the 4th weekend). We also celebrated my mom and Kristin's birthdays at the lake, so it was fun to all be together for that!
After a few days at the lake, we headed to ATL to spend just over a day there that included getting to use the club for some workouts, seeing a few friends in town, going to a few favorite places, and more relaxation. Jefferson is in major "water withdrawal" after all of his time in the pool and lake! I had to play with him in his baby pool yesterday and spray him with the hose before he would even take a walk with me at lunchtime! Needless to say, he is very much looking forward to his next visit to my parents' house :)
Almost done!
