new look for an old shelf

in our living room, we have a pretty white bookcase that looks very nice but was feeling a little blah. so with all of the stuff off the shelves because of our latest home improvement project chaos, i took the opportunity to dress the bookcase up a bit.
my m-i-l had given us a few rolls of blue and white waverly toile wallpaper that she didn't have a need for (and knows i love toile and the color blue), but after the serious wallpaper removal we went through when we bought our house, it will be quite some time before i decide to wallpaper anything. unless it's with a neutral textured grasscloth-type wallpaper, which i think looks great in a lot of rooms. so, i decided to put some of that wallpaper to good use!
on my lunch break today, i took on the little project of lining the back of the bookcase with the toile wallpaper, and i LOVE it. we'll see how it looks once i get the shelves staged - i'm a little worried it may be too busy - but it turned out really well and was super easy! and i always love having some toile in any room.

here is the bookcase before (i took  a couple of pictures before i got everything off the shelves so i would kind of remember how i had them staged):

and here's my pre-staging final product:

LOVE!!
